HUNTSVILLE – Huntsville-based PeopleTec has been awarded a $48.1 million contract by the Missile Defense Agency to support advanced capability development for the nation’s missile defense systems.
The contract will enable the agency to acquire advanced model-based systems engineering capabilities, digital capability development, and integrated modeling tools. Officials said the work is designed to help strengthen the Missile Defense System’s response to evolving threats, including ballistic, hypersonic, and other advanced weapons.
The effort will focus on unifying architectural and requirements development processes into a comprehensive digital framework. Leaders expect this approach to improve system performance, streamline collaboration, and enhance decision-making across missile defense programs.
Work under the contract will be performed in Huntsville and Fort Belvoir. The ordering period is five years from the award date.
The contract was issued under the Missile Defense Agency Advanced Capability Concepts Broad Agency Announcement, which enables industry partners to present innovative ideas, prototype demonstrations, and scientific breakthroughs to strengthen all elements of the Missile Defense System.
An initial task order will be issued immediately with a 12-month performance period. At the time of the award, $450,000 in fiscal year 2026 research, development, test, and evaluation funds were obligated.
Founded in 2005, PeopleTec is an employee-owned small business with more than 700 employees, providing engineering, emerging technologies, modeling and simulation, cyber, and mission operations services to federal customers.
