HUNTSVILLE, AL — Authorities have identified the victims of last month’s deadly house fire on Retlaw Street as Dominic Kane Tucker, 21, of Huntsville, and his 2-year-old son. Huntsville Police have confirmed the case is a murder-suicide.

Emergency crews were called to the 1100 block of Retlaw Street just before 3:00 p.m., where they found the home engulfed in flames. Even after the main fire was extinguished, hotspots lingered for nearly an hour, according to Huntsville Fire & Rescue.

When first responders entered the residence, they discovered the bodies of Tucker and his young son. Evidence and autopsy results revealed that both victims died from gunshot wounds before the fire began. A gun recovered at the scene was determined to be the weapon used in the killings.
