Entertainer Traci Braxton has died following a battle with cancer. She was 50.
“We have come to a time where we must inform the public that after a year of privately undergoing a series of treatment for esophageal cancer our beloved Traci Braxton has gone on to glory,” said her husband Kevin Surratt in a statement to NBC News.
As an actress, Braxton appeared in films including “Sinners Wanted” and “Chaaw.”
She is best known for the reality series “Braxton Family Values,” appearing with her siblings Toni, Towanda, Trina, Tamar and Michael.

She recorded the hit song “Last Call” in 2014, and “Broken Things” with her sisters Toni, Towanda and Trina, in 2018.
“When I heard the news about my mother being sick first thing she said was I’m going to fight and beat this,” her son Kevin Surratt Jr. posted to his Instagram on Saturday. “She fought to the end and today she’s at peace. I love my mother forever and this hurts so much but I’m at peace knowing she’s isn’t in pain anymore. I love you ma I’m going to miss you.”
A representative for Braxton did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
