The Progressive Union M. B. Church celebrated their 72nd Church Anniversary on Sunday, June 2, 2019. Theme for the day was: “Believing God’s Vision for the Next Generation”, scripture reference Psalm 78:6. Guest speaker for the 10:00 a.m. Services was Rev. Schmitt Moore, pastor of the Bethel M.B. Church in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. Hissermon title was “When the Saints Go Marching Out”, scripture, Acts 8:1-8. Music for the services was provided by the Mass Choir of Progressive Union. On Saturday, June 1, 2018 the church picnic was held on the grounds of Progressive Union, a time of food, fun, and fellowship was enjoyed by all. Rev. Joe E. Stevenson is the Interim Pastor.
