Supporters of Drake State Community & Technical College gathered on Saturday, June 12 for the Friends of the Library Afternoon Tea. The event was one of several planned to help the college celebrate its 60th anniversary.

The S.C. O’Neal Library and Technology Center, named for Drake State’s first president, is a hub of information for students, faculty and the community. The Friends of the Library program is one way the community can support the college through the Drake State Foundation. Guests at the event were treated to a special menu prepared by Drake State culinary instructor Darvin McDaniel and were provided information about the Friends of the Library program. The event made especially meaningful by the attendance Dr. Mary Stanley and Mrs. Nell Bradford, two long-standing supporters of Drake State.
